What is CVE-2026-33596?

An identified vulnerability in PowerDNS's DNSdist allows clients to potentially create a mismatch between the queries they send and the responses received. By flooding the server with perfectly timed queries directed at a TCP-only or DNS over TLS backend, an attacker could exploit this flaw, leading to response inaccuracies that may compromise network integrity and reliability.
