What is CVE-2026-33650?

AVideo, an open source video platform developed by WWBN, contains a vulnerability that allows users with 'Videos Moderator' permissions to escalate their privileges. Users can bypass intended restrictions to perform full video management operations, including transferring ownership and deleting any video. This security flaw arises from the improper use of the Permissions::canModerateVideos() function, which inaccurately grants full editing capabilities within certain video management actions. A two-step exploit is possible, where an attacker first transfers ownership of a video, followed by deleting it, thus creating a significant security risk. A patch has been released to address this issue.
