What is CVE-2026-33789?

A Stack-based Buffer Overflow vulnerability exists in the routing protocol daemon (rpd) of Juniper Networks' Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved. This weakness allows an unauthenticated BGP peer to execute crafted BGP route updates, which can lead to a denial of service and enable potential root-level command execution when the BGP Monitoring Protocol (BMP) is activated. Organizations utilizing affected versions of Junos OS should take immediate actions to mitigate the security risk.
