What is CVE-2026-34451?

The Claude SDK for TypeScript allows server-side TypeScript or JavaScript applications to access the Claude API. In versions from 0.79.0 to just before 0.81.0, a flaw exists in the local filesystem memory tool that fails to properly validate model-supplied paths due to a missing trailing path separator in its string prefix check. This limitation permits a model influenced by prompt injection to provide a specially crafted path, potentially leading to unauthorized read and write operations beyond the designated sandboxed memory directory. This vulnerability has been addressed in version 0.81.0.
