What is CVE-2026-35519?

The Pi-hole FTL engine, responsible for DNS handling within the Pi-hole ecosystem, exposes a Remote Code Execution vulnerability in its DNS host record configuration parameter. This flaw, present in versions 6.0 through just before 6.6, allows an attacker with valid authentication to manipulate dnsmasq configuration directives via newline characters. Such exploitation can lead to command execution on the host system, posing significant security risks. Users are encouraged to upgrade to version 6.6 to mitigate this issue.
