What is CVE-2026-3580?

In wolfSSL version 5.8.4, an optimization in the constant-time masking logic of the ECC scalar multiplication function can lead to a vulnerability. Specifically, the GCC compiler's optimizations can transform the protective measures into conditional branches when targeting RISC-V RV32I architecture with -O3 optimizations. This could potentially allow local attackers to perform timing analysis, thereby compromising the security of secret keys.
