What is CVE-2026-3582?

An Incorrect Authorization vulnerability was found in GitHub Enterprise Server that enables authenticated users with a classic personal access token (PAT), lacking the necessary repo scope, to access private and internal repository issues and commits via the search REST API. The vulnerability is exploitable only if the user already has access to the repository, either through organization membership or as a collaborator. All versions prior to 3.20 are affected, and fixes were implemented in versions 3.16.15, 3.17.12, 3.18.6, and 3.19.3. Reporting was done through the GitHub Bug Bounty program.
