What is CVE-2026-40262?

The Note Mark application, versions 0.19.1 and earlier, is susceptible to a Cross-Site Scripting vulnerability due to its asset delivery handler improperly serving uploaded files. This handler relies on magic-byte detection for content type verification, which fails to identify certain text-based formats like HTML and SVG. As a result, these files are delivered without a proper Content-Type, lack an X-Content-Type-Options: nosniff header, and are served inline. An authenticated user can upload a malicious HTML or SVG file containing JavaScript, which executes when another user accesses the asset URL, thereby operating within the application's context and gaining unauthorized access to the user's authenticated session and API actions. This vulnerability has been addressed in the latest release, version 0.19.2.
