What is CVE-2026-40293?

OpenFGA versions 0.1.4 through 1.13.1 contain a vulnerability where the preshared API key is included in the HTML response of the /playground endpoint. This endpoint, enabled by default for local development, does not require authentication and can potentially expose sensitive API credentials if accessible beyond localhost or trusted networks. Users running OpenFGA with the preshared-key authentication and the playground enabled should upgrade to version 1.14.0 or disable the playground to mitigate this risk.

Affected Version(s)

openfga >= 0.1.4, < 1.14.0
