What is CVE-2026-40589?

An improper access control vulnerability in FreeScout allows low-privileged agents to edit customer entries and add email addresses that belong to hidden customers across mailboxes. This flaw discloses sensitive information, such as the hidden customer's name and profile URL, during a successful operation. It also enables the re-assignment of the hidden email to the visible customer and rebinds associated conversations, potentially leading to unauthorized access to sensitive communications. The issue was resolved in version 1.8.214.
