What is CVE-2026-41065?

Tautulli, a Python-based monitoring tool for Plex Media Server, has a vulnerability that allows remote code execution through its newsletter custom template directory feature. When installed fresh, prior to completing the setup wizard, all management endpoints are left completely unauthenticated. This permits an attacker to create a newsletter agent that points to an attacker-controlled SMB share containing a malicious Mako template. By utilizing the newsletter render endpoint, execution can be triggered without any credentials or local access. Even with completed installations where credentials are configured, any admin can exploit this vulnerability. The issue is resolved in version 2.17.1.

Affected Version(s)
