What is CVE-2026-41231?

Froxlor, an open-source server administration software, is vulnerable due to improper construction of export destination paths from user-supplied input in the DataDump.add() function. This flaw allows symlink validation to be bypassed, resulting in potential unauthorized ownership of arbitrary directories by unprivileged users when the ExportCron is run with root privileges. The issue has been addressed in version 2.3.6, which includes an updated fix to prevent this exploitation.
