What is CVE-2026-41521?

xrdp, an open source RDP server by Neutrinolabs, has an integer overflow vulnerability in versions up to 0.10.6. This risk arises during the processing of screen update messages within the vnc-any connection mode. A malicious remote VNC server can exploit this flaw by sending specially crafted image dimensions, leading to incorrect memory buffer size calculations and undersized memory allocations. This can allow unauthorized access to sensitive information from the system's heap memory or result in a denial of service (DoS) caused by a process crash. Users are advised to upgrade to version 0.10.6.1 to mitigate this vulnerability.
