Remote Code Execution Vulnerability in PHPUnit Testing Framework
CVE-2026-41570
7.8HIGH
What is CVE-2026-41570?
A vulnerability in PHPUnit, a widely used testing framework for PHP, allows an attacker to manipulate PHP INI settings forwarded to child processes. In specific versions, due to the failure to neutralize metacharacters, an attacker can inject additional INI directives into the configuration of child processes. This can lead to severe security risks, including the potential for remote code execution through the configuration of directives like auto_prepend_file. The issue has been addressed in subsequent releases, ensuring that critical protections against such injection attacks are in place.
