What is CVE-2026-42176?

Scoold, a Q&A and knowledge sharing platform, contains a vulnerability in its admin configuration management. Before version 1.67.0, attackers could exploit this flaw by modifying the admin configuration via the /api/config/set/admins endpoint using a forged Bearer token. This manipulated token was accepted as a legitimate admin API token, allowing attackers to insert their email into the application’s admin list. Although changes weren't effective immediately, once the application was restarted, the attacker’s email would be recognized, granting them full admin access. This vulnerability has been effectively patched in version 1.67.0.
