What is CVE-2026-42204?

Coolify, an open-source and self-hostable tool for application and server management, contains a vulnerability that permits authenticated users to exploit a regression in the SHELL_SAFE_COMMAND_PATTERN. Versions 4.0.0-beta.471 through 4.0.0-beta.473 are affected, allowing malicious actors to insert shell commands into custom Docker Compose commands. This could lead to the execution of arbitrary commands on the host, posing significant security risks. The issue has been addressed in version 4.0.0-beta.474, recommending all users to upgrade.
