What is CVE-2026-42426?

OpenClaw prior to version 2026.4.8 contains an improper authorization weakness whereby the 'node.pair.approve' method erroneously permits the 'operator.write' scope instead of the more restrictive 'operator.pairing' scope. This flaw allows unprivileged users to approve node pairing, enabling attackers with 'operator.write' permissions to bypass established pairing approval restrictions and gain unauthorized access to executive-capable nodes, compromising system security.
