What is CVE-2026-44190?

A command injection vulnerability exists in the Ansible Lightspeed extension for Visual Studio Code, where the ansible.python.activationScript setting fails to validate user input correctly as a file path. This oversight permits a remote attacker to execute unauthorized commands on the user's system. By opening or executing a specially crafted project, the attacker could potentially gain full control over the system using the privileges of the Visual Studio Code application.
