What is CVE-2026-4427?

An input validation flaw exists in the pgproto3 library, which affects PostgreSQL implementations. A malicious PostgreSQL server can exploit this vulnerability by sending a DataRow message containing a negative field length. This could lead to a denial of service as the system may panic due to slice bounds being out of range, disrupting service availability.
