What is CVE-2026-44584?

The Paymenter webshop solution, used for managing hosting services, has a critical flaw in its email update functionality prior to version 1.5.0. When a user changes their email address, the system fails to invalidate the existing verification status, allowing an account to remain marked as verified without proper revalidation. This vulnerability may lead to misrepresentation of email ownership and unauthorized access to features that depend on verified email status. Although the exploit does not allow for direct unauthorized access to other users' accounts, it undermines the trust model associated with email verification. This issue has been resolved in version 1.5.0.
