What is CVE-2026-44664?

The fast-xml-builder library, which is responsible for converting JSON to XML, contains a vulnerability that allows potential XML injection. In version 1.1.5, a fix for a previous vulnerability inadequately handles consecutive dashes in XML comment content, specifically failing to account for sequences like '--->...'. This oversight enables attackers to escape the XML comment section and inject arbitrary XML or HTML content, posing significant security risks to affected applications. Users are advised to upgrade to version 1.1.6 to mitigate this vulnerability.
