What is CVE-2026-44736?

OpenProject, a widely used open-source project management tool, has a vulnerability in the GET /api/v3/relations endpoint that exposes sensitive information. Authenticated users can exploit this weakness to access relations and titles of work packages they are not authorized to see by manipulating the work package ID through filters such as involved, fromId, or toId. This issue arises from a flawed performance optimization in the RelationQuery, which bypasses the intended visibility restrictions. The vulnerability has been addressed in version 17.4.0.
