What is CVE-2026-44782?

A serialization flaw exists in the Discourse discussion platform where the GroupPostSerializer incorrectly declares include_user_long_name? as the predicate for its :name attribute. This mismatch leads to the unintended serialization of object.user.name, regardless of the SiteSetting.enable_names configuration. As a result, sensitive user name data could be revealed. The issue has been addressed in the latest patches, ensuring the correct predicate is now called, thus enhancing user name confidentiality.
