Container Management Vulnerability in Portainer Community Edition
CVE-2026-44849
9.4CRITICAL
What is CVE-2026-44849?
A vulnerability exists in Portainer Community Edition allowing non-admin users to potentially bypass security settings. While administrative restrictions for privileged modes, host PID namespace, device mapping, capabilities, sysctls, security options, and bind mounts are enforced during standard container setups, some restrictions fail to apply in the Docker Swarm service API. This oversight may enable unauthorized actions in container configurations. The issue has been addressed in versions 2.33.8, 2.39.2, and 2.41.0.
Affected Version(s)
