What is CVE-2026-44882?

In Portainer Community Edition versions 2.33.0 to 2.33.7, a flaw in the kubeClientMiddleware allows requests to bypass authorization checks when token validation fails. This occurs because an HTTP 403 response is issued without halting the execution, enabling potential unauthorized access to Kubernetes endpoints if the attacker possesses a valid Portainer session. This issue affects both Community and Enterprise editions of Portainer and is resolved in version 2.33.8.
