What is CVE-2026-44887?

Pi.Alert, a WiFi/LAN intruder detector, had a security flaw in its web-based configuration editor, allowing arbitrary Python code to be injected into the configuration file 'pialert.conf'. This issue arose because the configuration file was executed through Python's exec() function by the background scanning daemon. When web protection settings were disabled— which was the default state—this flaw could be exploited without any authentication, enabling unauthorized remote code execution. The vulnerability was resolved in version 2026-05-07.
