What is CVE-2026-45161?

The wger workout manager has a CSRF vulnerability in the trainer_login view that allows unauthorized actions. Prior to version 2.6, this functionality accepted GET requests without proper CSRF protection, exposing authenticated trainers to session hijacking. Malicious actors can exploit this by embedding an image tag within a compromised web page, prompting authenticated trainers to inadvertently send GET requests with their session cookies. This misconfiguration allows attackers to bind the trainer's session to an unauthorized user account. It is crucial for users of versions prior to 2.6 to update to the latest version to mitigate this risk.
