Multi-Tenant Namespace Vulnerabilities in OpenBao Secrets Management System
CVE-2026-45808
7.1HIGH
What is CVE-2026-45808?
OpenBao, an open-source identity-based secrets management system, faces a vulnerability related to its namespace structure, designed for multi-tenant separation. Prior to version 2.5.4, the system's namespaces could be compromised when a tenant intentionally exposed lease identifiers. This exposure enables unauthorized users from different tenants to revoke or renew leases and their underlying credentials using the undocumented sys/revoke and sys/renew endpoints, jeopardizing the integrity of tenant data. The issue has been addressed in version 2.5.4 of OpenBao.
Affected Version(s)
