What is CVE-2026-48085?

The OpenReception's appointment booking software, prior to version 1.0.1, exhibits a significant vulnerability that permits unauthenticated attackers to send POST requests to the /setup/create-admin-account endpoint. This allows the creation of GLOBAL_ADMIN accounts without validating the existence of prior admin users. Attackers capable of crafting a same-origin form POST can gain immediate administrative control over the platform. Following a straightforward exploitation method, multiple GLOBAL_ADMIN accounts can be generated consecutively without any limit on request frequency. Additionally, this flaw bypasses standard security measures, as active accounts are created without requiring email confirmation or further authentication. It is crucial for users to upgrade to version 1.0.1 or later to resolve this vulnerability.
