Stored Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability in GFI Archiver by GFI
CVE-2026-48538
5.1MEDIUM
What is CVE-2026-48538?
GFI Archiver versions before 15.13 are susceptible to a stored cross-site scripting vulnerability within the default import settings. This flaw allows authenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts or HTML through the 'configured folders' parameter to the ImportSettingsWizard.ashx endpoint. The malicious payload is then stored by the ImportSettingsWizard.SaveAllConfigSettings() method without proper output encoding, leading to execution in the browsers of users who later access the Archive Assistant default import settings. This vulnerability underscores the necessity for robust input validation and output encoding practices to mitigate risks.
