What is CVE-2026-49227?

The Vvveb CMS, a versatile content management system, contains a vulnerability in its comment management functionality. Prior to version 1.0.8.4, the system allowed low-privileged authors to manipulate comments on posts authored by others. The underlying issue arises due to insufficient validation in the admin/controller/content/comment.php and admin/controller/content/comments.php files, which process comment IDs without verifying the corresponding post ownership. As a result, an unauthorized user could read pending comments, alter moderation statuses, edit the content of comments, or even remove them entirely. This compromise of authorial and moderation boundaries underscores a significant flaw in the CMS that has been addressed in the update to version 1.0.8.4.
