What is CVE-2026-49279?

The WWBN AVideo platform, an open-source video hosting solution, has a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability in versions up to 29.0. This vulnerability arises from the app's MessageSQLite WebSocket Handler, specifically through the 'autoEvalCodeOnHTML' parameter. A malicious attacker can exploit this by injecting XSS payloads into the 'json' key, allowing them to bypass existing sanitization processes. This vulnerability could lead to unauthorized script execution within the browsers of connected users, potentially enabling them to steal session cookies, authentication tokens, and perform actions on behalf of users by chaining with Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF). A security patch is under development and has not yet been officially released.
