Unbounded Resource Consumption in Datadog's Distributed Tracing Library for C++
CVE-2026-50277
7.5HIGH
What is CVE-2026-50277?
The dd-trace-cpp library, used for distributed tracing in C++, allows unauthorized remote attackers to exploit incoming W3C baggage headers without enforcing limits on the number of items or total bytes during the extraction process. This oversight can lead to excessive resource allocation, resulting in potential denial of service for affected services, particularly when facing internet requests. The issue has been addressed in version 2.1.0.
Affected Version(s)
dd-trace-cpp < 2.1.0
