What is CVE-2026-52734?

A memory management issue exists in the Zcash node implementation by ZEBRA, where unauthenticated P2P peers can exploit the mempool download pipeline. Specifically, transactions may persist beyond verification, causing an increase in memory consumption without proper cleanup mechanisms. The failure of timeout handling allows exploited transactions to accumulate indefinitely, potentially leading to performance degradation or crashes under high traffic scenarios. This flaw has been addressed in version 4.5.0.
