Session Management Flaw in Kimai Time Tracking Application
CVE-2026-52827

What is CVE-2026-52827?
An issue was identified in the Kimai time tracking application where the KIMAI_SESSION cookie, generated after successful password verification but prior to TOTP (Time-based One-Time Password) completion, was improperly accepted by all /api routes. This vulnerability arose due to inadequate restrictions within the app's security configurations. As a result, it allowed authenticated users to execute REST API operations without fulfilling the second factor of authentication, despite protections being enforced on web routes. The vulnerability has been addressed in version 2.59.0.
