What is CVE-2026-53594?

The FreeScout Help Desk software has a vulnerability in its App Logs feature, which utilizes the rap2hpoutre/laravel-log-viewer component. This flaw allows an attacker to exploit the system by forging a valid Laravel-encrypted download parameter, thereby circumventing restrictions intended to limit downloads to log files only. Vulnerable versions of FreeScout before 1.8.224 permit the resolution of arbitrary absolute paths, enabling unauthorized access to sensitive files on the server that are readable by the PHP process.
