What is CVE-2026-53598?

Prompty, a markdown file format for LLM prompts, allows attackers to exploit unprotected path references. Versions before 2.0.0-beta.2 do not enforce directory restrictions on resolved paths, potentially enabling unauthorized access to local files. Attackers can leverage absolute paths, directory traversal mechanisms, or symlink escapes to read sensitive data. This vulnerability has been remedied in version 2.0.0-beta.2.
