What is CVE-2026-53658?

The Fabric CA's LDAP configuration prior to version 1.5.21 has a significant flaw that enables unauthenticated attackers to manipulate LDAP user searches. When HTTP Basic authentication is configured, the system improperly incorporates usernames into its LDAP query without adequately escaping LDAP metacharacters. This could lead to malicious individuals steering authentication attempts towards legitimate user accounts, enabling unauthorized access. For organizations using the LDAP backend configuration, it is crucial to upgrade to version 1.5.21 or later to mitigate this security risk. Deployments that do not utilize an LDAP backend remain unaffected.
