What is CVE-2026-54018?

The Open WebUI platform, a self-hosted AI tool, contains a Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) vulnerability that allows attackers to exploit URL validation processes. Prior to version 0.9.6, the SafePlaywrightURLLoader's validate_url function inadequately prevents access to restricted internal network resources when following HTTP redirects. An attacker can leverage this flaw by providing a 'safe' URL that points to a restricted address, thus gaining unauthorized access to internal services even if certain application protections are enabled. This vulnerability was addressed in version 0.9.6.
