What is CVE-2026-54716?

The Valhalla open source routing engine is susceptible to a vulnerability where a maliciously crafted POST request containing an exclude_polygons ring formed by three collinear points can trigger unbounded memory growth in the worker process. This flaw arises in versions 3.7.0 and earlier and allows an unauthenticated attacker to send a single request, leading to termination of the worker by the out-of-memory killer. Notably, endpoints such as /route which accept exclude_polygons have not been confirmed as affected. As of now, there is no available patch for this issue.

Affected Version(s)

valhalla <= 3.7.0
