What is CVE-2026-55194?

The FreeRDP vulnerability arises from improper handling of response reassembly stream capacity in the Remote Desktop Protocol. An untrusted TS Gateway can exploit this flaw by sending a PTYPE_RESPONSE with a smaller alloc_hint, as compared to a larger frag_length. This discrepancy allows attackers to write beyond the intended buffer size, resulting in heap corruption that can crash the FreeRDP client and potentially enable arbitrary code execution. The issue is remediated in version 3.27.0.

Affected Version(s)

FreeRDP < 3.27.0
