What is CVE-2026-55227?

Weblate, a web-based localization tool, has a vulnerability in its versions prior to 2026.7. Due to improper access control, several endpoints permit users to look up objects without restricting the search to accessible projects. As a result, unauthorized users may receive HTTP 403 Forbidden responses instead of the expected 404 Not Found when attempting to access restricted objects. This behavior reveals the existence of objects within private Weblate projects, potentially exposing sensitive information. The issue has been remedied in version 2026.7, enhancing the security of the tool.
