What is CVE-2026-55454?

Appsmith, a platform designed for building admin panels and internal tools, has a significant vulnerability in its bundled Caddy reverse proxy. The admin API, which lacks authentication by default, is exposed on 0.0.0.0:2019 within the container. Although this listener is not directly exposed to the host machine, it remains accessible to the Appsmith server process or can be exploited through an SSRF (Server-Side Request Forgery). An authenticated low-privileged user can leverage this issue to perform unauthorized POST requests to the API, potentially overwriting Caddy's live configuration and gaining control over the reverse proxy. This critical issue was addressed in version 2.1.
