What is CVE-2026-55457?

The Goobi Viewer, a platform for displaying digitized materials, contains a flaw in its authorization mechanism. Before version 26.05, the application improperly handles authorization tokens. It returns an empty string when the webapi.authorization.token is not set, allowing users to access protected endpoints without valid credentials. Specifically, the AuthorizationFilter fails to verify whether the configured token is present, resulting in potential unauthorized access. This vulnerability has been addressed in version 26.05.
