What is CVE-2026-55459?

The Goobi Viewer, a web application designed to display digitized materials, is susceptible to a token authentication issue. This vulnerability arises from the AuthenticationEndpoint.verifyOpenIdToken not enforcing the 'aud' claim during cryptographic validation. Instead, it performs a manual check that fails to account for multi-relying party (RP) Identity Providers (IdP), allowing attackers to authenticate as legitimate users using tokens meant for different relying parties. This flaw has been addressed in version 26.05 of the Goobi Viewer.

Affected Version(s)

goobi-viewer-core >= 25.01, < 26.05
