What is CVE-2026-55496?

A significant vulnerability has been identified in the Cloudreve file management and sharing system prior to version 4.17.0. This flaw allows logged-in users to exploit the /api/v4/user/search endpoint, specifically the SearchActive function, which improperly handles user status predicates. As a result, users are able to enumerate the email addresses and metadata of inactive or banned accounts due to inadequate filtering. The SearchActive method lacks the StatusActive predicate required to restrict results, thus exposing sensitive information. This vulnerability has been addressed in version 4.17.0.
