What is CVE-2026-55543?

TuxGuitar, an open-source guitar tablature editor, contains a vulnerability where untrusted .tg files can reference harmful on-disk archives. Specifically, the issue allows a .tg file to manipulate the gervil.soundbank.path to lead to an unverified class loader instantiating a potentially malicious class. This could enable execution of arbitrary code with the same privileges as the TuxGuitar process when the flawed file is opened. This vulnerability was addressed in version 2.1.0, making it crucial for users to upgrade immediately.
