What is CVE-2026-55622?

Prior to version 7.2.0, the Incus system container and virtual machine manager was found to have a significant vulnerability involving missing authorization checks during the instance copying process. This flaw enabled an attacker, who knew the name of an inaccessible project and an instance within it, to duplicate the instance to a project they could access. Consequently, this vulnerability could lead to unauthorized access to sensitive information stored within those instances. The issue has been resolved in version 7.2.0, emphasizing the importance of keeping software up-to-date to mitigate such risks.
