What is CVE-2026-55874?

SeaweedFS, a distributed storage system, has a significant vulnerability in its S3 API gateway. Prior to version 4.34, the gateway fails to properly handle dot-dot path segments in the X-Amz-Copy-Source header during operations such as CopyObject and UploadPartCopy. This oversight allows an authenticated user, who is normally restricted to a single bucket, to read objects from other buckets. Consequently, this may expose sensitive data inadvertently, leading to unauthorized access. The issue has been addressed in version 4.34, and it is crucial for users to update promptly to mitigate potential risks.
