What is CVE-2026-56122?

Winstone Servlet Engine versions up to 0.9.10 are susceptible to a path traversal vulnerability that enables unauthenticated attackers to access arbitrary files. This occurs when attackers send specially crafted HTTP GET requests that include dot-dot-slash sequences, which are not properly sanitized. By exploiting this flaw, they can traverse beyond the webroot directory and read any files that the servlet engine can access, potentially exposing sensitive data, especially if the server runs with elevated privileges.

Affected Version(s)

Winstone Servlet Container 0 <= 0.9.10

Exploit Proof of Concept (PoC)

PoC code is written by security researchers to demonstrate the vulnerability can be exploited. PoC code is also a key component for weaponization which could lead to ransomware.
